Homecoming week is around the corner! Starting Monday, September 29, Homecoming week will begin! To kick off this joyous time of the year, there will be after school events that you won’t want to miss out on! This year’s events are Monday movie night, Wednesday powderpuff football and macho volleyball, food truck Thursday, Friday pep rally, parade, and football, and finally, the Homecoming dance on Saturday! You definitely won’t want to miss out on these events, especially if you’re looking to have the time of your life! Please note that Social Probation is still in effect!
The homecoming dance itself is taking place on October 4th in the North Gym from 7-10pm and costs $10 a ticket. If you are bringing a guest, please make sure to fill out a guest form when purchasing your ticket! The theme of this year’s dance is Masquerade Ball and please note that you cannot have a mask that wraps around your head. The only masks permitted are to be hand held.
Let me ask you something: What does homecoming mean to you? Running for homecoming prince, Roderick Redding says, “To me, homecoming is a celebration of maturity and coming of age. It’s a rite of passage for high school and a chance to see how far your seed grows from year to year.” I couldn’t agree more with that. Make sure your grades are in tip top shape for homecoming as well!
Be sure to vote for who you want to be this year’s homecoming princess, prince, king, and queen! Voting starts on September 29th and lasts throughout the week!
A little reminder that there is no school on Thursday, October 2nd, so enjoy your free morning, and come watch volleyball and eat food in the afternoon! The food trucks that will be there are Kona Ice, Smith Burger, Burrito King, and to wash it all down, we have Keke’s Drinks all from 4-7! Have the best time during homecoming week and don’t forget to show school spirit by dressing up for spirit week! Go Chargers and IF IT AIN’T BLUE, IT AIN’T TRUE!
